A secret underground research facility hosts a mythical aquatic creature only ever heard about in folk-lore. Unable to communicate, the creature finds refuge in Elena, a mute janitor who forms an unlikely bond that is tested when scientists deem the creature unsafe, and order it to be exterminated.
