What should I bring along?

Your ticket(s) or smart phone and a piece of photo ID for entry. As we are a licensed venue, security may ask to see ID upon entry. If you cannot produce relevant ID, then you may be refused entry, without refund. Be sure to bring ID along just in case!

It can get pretty cold up there as the sun goes down, so some warm clothes and a blanket always helps, but you can hire these from our box office if you need to. A $15 deposit is required, and upon return at the end of the night, $10 is given back.

No need to bring chairs - we’ve got enough deck chairs and bean bags for everybody.


Is the venue 18+ only?

Yes - Rooftop Movies is a licensed venue and you may be asked for valid ID at the entrance.

Minors will only be able to enter under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Only a minors legal parent or guardian can provide entrance for them, and must stay for the duration of the film. 

The rating of the film takes precedence, if the film is MA15+ or R18+ they must be of that age to attend, regardless of if they are with a parent or not. 


What proof of ID will I need for entry?

Can I bring my friend who is under 18?

Nope, Sorry! Minors will only be able to enter under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.


How much do tickets cost?

Online Sales: $16 total ($13 plus $3 Booking Fee)

Door Sales: $17

Please note, Door sales are only available if the film has not already sold out. To see if a film has sold out, or selling fast, check the program on our website. 


How Do I Buy Tickets?

Follow the links from each film’s page in the program. We accept Mastercard and Visa.

Tickets are on sale until 5pm on the day of the screening unless sold out prior. The Rooftop Movies Box Office is open for door sales from 6pm. Tickets are subject to availability, and relying on door sales may result in missing out.

Each film will start approximately at 8pm

We advise booking online before 5pm to guarantee entry.


Do I need to print my ticket, or can I show it on my phone?

Either is OK. Make sure to have your ticket ready on your phone to show the Box Office staff when entering.


Do films sell out?

Yes! Particularly on weekends and towards the end of season. Make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.


Can I buy tickets at the venue?

Yep - If the film has not sold out online. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.


What if it rains?

As an outdoor event, we’re occasionally subject to bad weather. We’ll try to go ahead with events wherever possible, and may not cancel for light or intermittent rain. We strongly recommend customers bring wet weather gear to events in case of rain (note - the use of umbrellas during screenings is not permitted). However, you can buy ponchos at the Box Office for $5

Events will only be cancelled if weather poses a safety threat to patrons, staff or technical equipment.

If a screening is going to be cancelled due to weather, all ticket holders will be sent an email by 5pm letting them know. We will also post on the Facebook page around this time.

In that event, we’ll follow up the next business day with an exchange voucher for you to use on any other film that is available in the season.


How do I use an e-Voucher?

Gift Vouchers (e-Vouchers) can be used on the website to pre-order tickets - they cannot be used at the Box Office or for food or drinks on the night.

Once you receive a Gift Voucher email, head to the program, pick a film you like and proceed through check out. When prompted for payment, select ‘gift voucher’ and enter the redemption code provided on the original email. Please note, tickets are subject to availability, and if a session is sold out, it's sold out.

When do Gift Vouchers expire?

Gift Vouchers expire at 5pm WST on 31 March 2018. They are not transferable to future seasons, and any unused vouchers cannot be refunded. Don’t wait until the end of the season to use them, as films are very likely to sell out!


When will the next programs be announced?

We will announce our programs throughout the season. Keep and eye on our website and social media to keep up to date!


Is seating reserved?

Seating is unreserved - it’s first come, first served. We can’t reserve seats prior to doors opening. To ensure you get the seat you want, be there at 6pm when the doors open and secure your seat.  


What time should I get there?

Doors open at 6pm, and the film starts at 8pm. We recommend getting there as early as you can to choose your seat, check out the view, relax, and enjoy the bar and delicious food.


When does the season end?

Our last film will show on March 31st 2018, then we will be closed for Winter.


How do I get there?

We’re located on the top floor of the City of Perth Roe Street carpark.

If you’re parking there, access is from 68 Roe Street, Northbridge.

If you’re arriving another way, access for pedestrians is on James Street, just over the road from the Northbridge Piazza.

Take the elevator to level 6!


Can I BYO food and alcohol?

As we’re a licensed venue, you cannot BYO alcohol. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, however there is food available and snacks to purchase from the Candy Bar.


Do you accept EFTPOS?

The Rooftop Box Office accepts EFTPOS everywhere! There is no cash withdrawal facilities on site - the nearest ATM's are on Lake Street. Pass outs are ok.


I booked tickets but can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?

All bookings are final - we don’t refund or exchange tickets for a booking mistake or a change of mind. Please take care when booking to check you have the correct details. You are welcome to pass them on to friends or family.

In the event of a wet weather cancellation, we’ll exchange your ticket for another session.

How does the parking work?

Can I hire out the cinema?

Sure thing! Check our Functions Package to see all the relevant information you need to get booking.


Do you offer group booking packages?

Yes. For groups of 10 or more, again, see our Functions Package for further details.

Rooftop Movies is wheelchair accessible. Disabled toilets are located on ground level of the building.

Rooftop Movies accepts Companion Cards. Simply purchase a ticket and email your confirmation to hello@rooftopmovies.com.au with your Companion Card details, and we will issue you a complimentary ticket for your companion. The card will need to be shown upon entry.
